Twisselman Clay Mine is listed with the State of California as a source of Calcium Bentonite
Clay.
The Calcium Bentonite Clay absorbs several times its own weight of water, and at saturation, swells to as
much as 8 to 20 time its original volume, sealing the pond, reservoir or canal and reducing the water loss!
Application
of the Twisselman Clay (Calcium Bentonite) is based on the soil type, but is uniformly applied from 8 to 12 lbs. per
square foot and then thoroughly mixed with the soil to a depth of at least 2 to 4 inches.
